Pastor LaTonya M. Heyward is a native of Stamford, CT and currently resides in Westchester County, New York. 



Understanding the importance of pursuing a college education, Pastor Heyward completed her undergraduate studies and received a Bachelors of Social Work at Norfolk State University, Norfolk, VA.  She then completed a dual Masters Degree in Social Work and Urban Studies with a concentration in management from Southern Connecticut State University, New Haven, CT.   Because of her love for learning she continues to take relevant Bible courses at New York Theological Seminary at her leisure.



Pastor Heyward’s giving nature has led her to a career in social work where she enjoys helping individuals and families transform their lives.  She worked for the State of Connecticut as a Social Worker and Supervisor for almost 13 years and is currently employed as a Social Work Manager by the Federal Government.



Pastor was a member of Union Baptist Church, under the leadership of Dr. Robert W. Perry for her childhood and young adult years.  She then served at Love Temple Church, under the leadership of Felicia Snow of whom Bishop Michael Densmore, is the Presiding Prelate.  It was in 1998 when she heard the preaching of the anointed and prolific orator, Bishop Clinton L. Heyward whom became an important encourager in her life.  Upon hearing the Gospel heralded, her attention was summoned to the power and presence of the Lord in a way that she had never experienced HIM!  Accepting the invitation to be nurtured, cultivated and developed in God, Pastor Heyward joined the Greater Tabernacle of Deliverance.  Soon after she was baptized in the name of JESUS and received the gift of the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues.



Pastor Heyward served Bishop Heyward and the ministry faithfully in administrative duties and later became a trustee.  Because she is a faithful woman of God with a keen awareness of people’s needs, in 2000 she was licensed as a Missionary and later served as the leader of the Daughter’s of Zion Women’s Ministry.  She also has an intrinsic love for souls and served as an active member of the Outreach/Street Ministry.  As a result of her commitment to God and love for the ministry she was appointed as the Vice President of the Church and the Organization. 



Pastor was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Bishop Clinton L. Heyward on December 12, 2005.  Four months and 25 days later, the Lord delivered and healed Bishop, by allowing him to fall asleep on May 7, 2006.  It was after this, that Pastor remembered a conversation with the late Bishop Clinton L. Heyward, who said, “If anything should ever happen to me, you had better lead this ministry… you would be a great Pastor”.  It had been prophesied to Pastor for years that she would preach the gospel.  The Holy Ghost quickened in her spirit and she picked up the mantle and ran with the vision.

On May 19, 2007 Elder LaTonya Heyward was officially installed as the Senior Pastor of Dabar Tabernacle of Deliverance, Inc.  To God be the Glory for the marvelous things He has done!
